qapt-deb-installer software package provides tool for installing deb files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install qapt-deb-installer
qapt-deb-installer is installed in your system.
Make ensure the qapt-deb-installer package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep qapt-deb-installer *
You will get with qapt-deb-installer package name, version, architecture and description in a table
